Inks seem to take FOREVER to fully dry in Leuchtturm notebook--is this normal?

Let me just say up front that I am NOT looking for new pen recs, nor do I want to switch to ballpoint or anything like that. I'm just posting here because Leuchtturms are really popular but I've never seen anyone else mention this and I feel like I'm losing my mind lmao.

I primarily use Pilot G2s/Juice pens, which like, okay, juicy ink is juicy, but I feel like it takes up to 10 minutes to fully get to a point where I don't have to be on high alert about where I rest my non-dominant hand when I'm writing. Hell, even Pentel Energels act like that in this notebook (albeit to a lesser extent), and they're notorious for short drying times. It's like the paper doesn't want to absorb the ink or something. Is this typical, or did I get unlucky? (I bought the notebook about a year ago; mentioning that in case they changed their paper composition somehow.)
