First 2011?

Wanting to buy my first 2011. Im in law enforcement and currently, the staccato is not authorized, but I hope eventually they will be. Do I suck up the cost difference and get the staccato or start with a prodigy and upgrade it slowly?

I know this is very entry level in terms of 2011's, but the staccato price tag is already hard for me to swallow lol.
