avoiding fillers

Hey! Can I have some thoughts and input on this?! I'm 45yo, although I look much younger. (So I've been told!) However, I have slight nasolabial folds even when my face is at rest and I've also lost volume in my cheeks.

I've had 3 Profhilo treatments, more to meet injectors and get to know them and seek their opinions before doing anything... I haven't really found that the Profhilo has done much.

The issue is that I am battling (psychologically) with the idea of getting filler. Can anyone reassure me on this, or have a chat about it? The issues I have are...

  1. The BDDE component of filler and how this isn't 'natural' (unlike the hyaluronic acid).
  2. Some weird concern I have about filler changing the shape of my face and this being 'permanent' because...
  3. I also have worries about using hyaluronidase to dissolve it since people seem to have ended up with disasters sometimes, dissolving their own natural hyaluronic acid and ending up with sunken faces. So I don't feel reassured about it not being permanent when I think of this...
  4. I've read how research/MRIs show that filler remains in the face for decades after it was injected, can migrate and end up in unexpected places and (over many tweakments) end up pulling your face downwards... I mean - that it's not that it gets absorbed by your body over the months but really just moves out of place...

Essentially, I can see how filler is a short-term incredible fix, but I'm not sure it is the best long-term solution. I'm also really into being as natural as possible, avoiding chemicals, eating organic... and I'm struggling with the idea of filler.

Am I over-reacting and being silly here? I keep making appointments to get filler and then chickening out and getting a Profhilo treatment instead(!). Then I feel like a failure and a coward and I have to keep hating my face every morning(!). Arrrgggg.

Are there other treatments I can investigate instead of fillers? I have read about PRP injections - and ultherapy? The aesthetician I saw today told me that PRP doesn't work/isn't effective. And whilst ultherapy sounds great, everyone says it hurts a lot and is v expensive... But maybe I have to try everything else and only then resort to fillers....

I already have a NuFace microcurrent device, an Omnilux Contour mask and a Nira Laser which I use on all my lines including nasolabial folds. I use vit C every morning and retinol at night, plus SPF and various peptides under make-up.

Help! Every day I get up and fixate on my nasolabial folds in the mirror. They just seemed to appear out of no where with peri-menopause and HRT hasn't got rid of them!
