Why is LSE and Economics in general respected?

I don't get it? Economics is a soft pseudoscience and the whole discipline is a bunch of failed people not smart enough to do a proper subject like mathematics or physics. The lecturers often mention how economics uses the scientific method like the physical sciences, it's just a made up subject full of circle jerking, asinine individuals. The whole appeal is that it's quantitative yet it's literally baby maths, a very watered down degree, but the students insist it is hard???? For them it is hard, probably, with their smooth brains.

Also LSE is a terrible university in itself, forcing everyone to do LSE100 how pathetic and Mickey Mouse, forcing students to pander to the drivel spewed by the even softer social sciences. You don't see unis like Imperial or Oxbridge doing this, do you?

This degree and every other degree at LSE is nowhere near as rigorous as other degrees. Someone I know doing engineering at Newcastle has a harder degree, genuinely - I've looked at what they're doing and in comparison to this course, it is much more rigorous, the difference night and day so I'm very unsure how LSE and Economics in general has any respect at all?

Oh and don't get me started on some of the other subjects and departments here. Obviously people will respect Imperial students more, after all, Imperial doesn't have a gender studies department for goodness sake, and their students are on average 100x smarter lmao there are some proper smooth brains here.

This subreddit and TSR just propagates lies after lies after lies, to the point where I can't take it anymore. Why does anyone see econ and LSE as in any way prestigious/respected?? Hugely overrated.
