To literal unable to banter

Hi All,

M33 struggling at work as banter is a big part of it.

I think I'm to literal so don't like to push the "banter" incase they get upset when i find something safe to banrlter about I stay with and dont deviate making it more edgy and go to far 🫠 but on the one topic I thought was safe until crossed the line.

On the other side I can't tell if someone is having banter or being a dick so I find it had to engage when it's coming my way at times.

Im just realising this may be because I take things very literally and thinking back I always have since I was a kid I remember I was the only one confused in a board game when people were cheating etc.

I feel very much on the outer at work because of these things and want to get better any advice?
