Should I test a genetic test for PKD?

My dad (62m) just got diagnosed with PKD, and I'm (30m) worried that I have a 50% chance of having this disease. I'd really like to know so I can get ahead of it. Is the gene test expensive? I'm an American, high deductible health insurance, blah blah, it sucks here and I'm broke.
