Entra Cloud Sync Provisioning - AD Identity Syncing Question

Hi All,

I have a query that I'm struggling to clarify, I have migrated all our on prem user objects (and a few distribution groups) to Entra cloud sync from AAD Connect sync, I have been following this guide - Migrating from AADConnect Sync to Entra Connect Cloud Sync Correctly – Brian Reid – Microsoft 365 Subject Matter Expert

I am at the point where I have disabled the Entra connect service which has stopped the synchronization and password hash sync to Entra. I have tested that objects are syncing OK via cloud sync by changing some on-prem attributes and ensuring they sync to EntraID (and passwords) however I am not sure what will occur when I delete AAD connect (i.e. go to uninstall via control panel!) - basically, there is something in my mind that the objects are still somehow 'linked' to AAD connect but if someone could ease my mind that'd be great!!

DC01 - Has AAD Connect, server is being decommissioned

DC02 - New DC and now has Entra cloud sync agent installed
