Where did this beautiful chair come from and how old is it?

My mother in law just gave me this beautiful chair that she found at an estate sale. The craftsmanship is just absolutely exquisite. The saddest thing is its state of ruin. There is a large crack along the back and it’s missing claws on each of the feet. Is this something I can fix or is it something I shouldn’t tamper with? It’s 30” tall at the back and the seat is 20” deep. Let me know if there’s more information I can provide! Thanks❤️
