For all my Purdue Deferred Applicants:

Last year, 800 more students accepted spots than Purdue had anticipated. This led to a housing crisis where people were PAID to go live off-campus.

Don't lose hope, they may just want to see their expected enrollment projections before making any other decisions.

Here are also a couple of points I'll make if anyone wants to add/refute one:

- I believe Purdue does care about yield for the reason above. Speaking from personal experience, I had people in my class with lower extracurricular and academic merit get in when others who did very well didn't.

- Purdue Engineering is cooked, yes - but it's not elite. A 1590 SAT and 16 APs is not the expectation to get in - you can't just slap this at people with insane stats saying "engineering is cooked."

I understand this is biased and a large dose of copium, but I hope I played some role in destressing some people. (:

Sincerely,

- A Purdue Deferred Applicant
