Stand at center of canvas?
Hi all, I'm starting to learn gesture drawing and have been using a VR app for it, which simulates having a canvas in front of you and a 3D human model at some distance. Recently been working on my proportions and also recently discovered there's an opacity setting on the canvas so I can check if my proportions were close enough or way off.
After doing some more sketches and then overlaying it over the model, I'm seeing these weird proportions on the right arm and legs. Then I realized why: it was because I was standing off-center from my canvas.
So I'm wondering if I'm on the right track that I should be standing at center of the canvas to avoid these off-proportions. A couple of sketches shows that the right arm is starting to look better, and the torso also improved a bit. Legs still seem to be off, so I'm wondering if some of you squat a bit.
