Why is it so common for liberals to gaslight themselves about Kyle Rittenhouse's case?
Note: I'm not talking about your personal feelings on Rittenhouse or the case, rather on the denial of the mountains of evidence and clear-cut self-defense verdict that was given to the case.
Kyle Rittenhouse is pretty old news, but the Luigi Mangione debate has somewhat brought him back into the spotlight with some people drawing a comparison point, saying that it's unfair that Mangione might face the death penalty whereas Rittenhouse was "rewarded" for his actions.
So I've been seeing comments on Insta/TikTok regarding the comparison and liberals tend to comment something like "Yeah it's crazy how Kyle opened fire into a crowd and killed 3 men who didn't do anything to him and he got away free".
Kyle never opened fire into a crowd, he fired 3 shots, at near point-blank range, at each one of his 3 attackers, in a direction where there was no such crowd.
1- Joseph Rosenbaum, the first of his "victims" (for lack of a better word) had threatened Rittenhouse and ambushed him, then tried to take his gun away while saying he'd kill him
2- Anthony Huber charged Rittenhouse from behind and smacked him with a skateboard in the back of the head
3- Gaige Grosskreutz walked in front of Rittenhouse while he (Rittenhouse) was asking for help with his gun down and not in his arms, and proceeded to pull a gun to Rittenhouse's face (This is actually from Grosskreutz' own testimony, which made the prosecutor literally facepalm because it obviously meant that Grosskreutz confirmed Rittenhouse acted in self-defense)
So it's very obvious that all of his attackers definitely did do something.
Yet, it seems that every time the case is discussed, people are super comfortable to ignore this and make up their own scenario about how he apparently and randomly walked into a crowd and began firing. Why?
