Flashing CHECK TPMS SYSTEM even after wheel bearing and 4 TPMS sensors replaced - 2013 Civic! HELP!
Guys, I am at the end of my rope. My 2013 civic with 133k on it has had an issue with a flashing "CHECK TPMS SYSTEM" light. It came on during a long drive and I felt some vibration coming from the wheels and a slight burning smell. So I pulled over, all tires were properly inflated and not losing pressure. I took it to a few mechanics that I trust, one said the bearings were fine, but the light came back so I took it to Town Fair Tire thinking the TPMS sensors had died since the light was now staying solid after flashing at startup. They scanned it and said 3 of the 4 sensors werent communicating and were dead. So I had them replace all four with aftermarket sensors. It drove fine for a few days then the flashing check TPMS system came back on. I took it to a trusted local mechanic and they diagnosed it as having two bad bearings which can interfere with the ABS sensors and wheel speed sensors I guess and cause that light to come on flashing. I paid to have both front wheel hub assemblies replaced (which includes a new bearing) and the car was great for a week! Flash forward to this morning I'm driving on the highway and around 30 minutes in the flashing "CHECK TPMS SYSTEM" comes back on. I pull over and it goes away within about 10 minutes. I am beyond frustrated and confused. I just dropped it back off the place that did my bearings and their first inclination was that it's because of the aftermarket TPMS sensors not being OEM? The codes are incorrect installation right rear and incorrect installtion left rear and tpms sensors 2,3,4 all have communication errors just like before I had them replaced. What in the world could be causing this??!! I have put to much money into this car in the past six months I do not want to pay for another shot in the dark. Anyone have any thoughts?? Im desperate!
