How do Australians feel about their personal data being shared?
Every day, the average person engages in about 5,000 data interactions—a leap from just 298 in 2010. Australians has their personal information is shared up to 450 times daily, often without their knowledge or explicit consent.
While it’s hard to escape businesses collecting your data entirely, understanding your own comfort level and taking steps to protect your privacy can help you strike the right balance.
I’m writing an article about the spectrum of attitudes Australians have about their data for a popular print magazine.
Ideally, we would like the real name and a photo, but I get the irony of asking someone who is protective of their data to be displayed for the world to see. We are happy to work with you to avoid being recognised – you can be John Doe and don a balaclava, hat, and sunnies if you like.
The point is we want Australians to question their own data boundaries so they can feel safer and more aware of their digital presence. DM me or comment below if you want to take part.
