What’s your awkward moment while eating alone?

I like going out alone sometimes, be it for movies, themed cafes/ lounges rather than always going out in a group.

Today, I went to a newly opened cafe to enjoy my weekend solo date. I was clicking pictures of my order (to send it to my mom cause the presentation was actually good) then a lady, walked up to me.

The conversation went like this:

Her: "Are you an influencer? Are your friends joining you here? Please post a good review about us!”

For a second, I just processed all her questions and then replied, “No, I’m not an influencer, and no, my friends aren’t joining me.”

She said, “You’re nicely dressed and was taking pictures of your food, so I thought... Sorry, maybe your date is on the way.”

I clarified: “Actually, I’m here on a solo date, just enjoying some me time this weekend.”

She looked surprised and said, “Oh, sorry I thought something else. Still, please rate us well, we’re new and will improve!”

She was so sweet ,cheerful and the owner of the cafe too. But I did feel a bit awkward. Like...is it so unusual to go out nicely dressed and eat alone? Why expect always be with friends or a date? Well, never mind, I love going alone anyway.
