becoming a Scaffolder
Did a bit of research and came to a conclusion I could go for a scaffolding work/career in Ireland. Basically I'm a renderer/plasterer in Sweden earning 20 Euros/h. Spent 10 years on industrial scaffolding doing facades. But looking for any possible ways to transition to Ireland. North region - Sligo, Cavan, Monaghan. Have accommodation set up. Have savings. I know the housing crisis is critical. Rents are sky high, public transport is unreliable and lacking, public healthcare - bad. Probably will buy a car and insurance will be high. I only have High school education with A and B levels in most subjects. Officially translated to English. Ireland is pretty much a downgrade for me no matter how I look at it. But I need to get a job there that pays around the same amount and I know I can do scaffolding. There are two scaffolding jobs available there in Northern parts of Ireland and a lot more going south - But Dublin would be the max I would travel. So it is in demand I guess.
My question is how would someone like me start? Get in? I see These Basic Scaffolding Cards and stuff but they require at least 9 months experience working under educated scaffolder. So How do I get in?
And then there is this thing https://mountlucas.ie/scaffolding-apprenticeship/ whih I guess is... you first contact the employer that has something to do with SOLAS and ask them to bring you on as apprentice?
So guess 16 Euros/h right off the bat is not possible?
