Clerical Officer career progression?

So I am currently doing some temp clerical officer work in a Cork hospital. Previous experience doing clerical officer work in another hospital in Galway, and admin work too. I (33,m) have applied for the recent permanent and temporary clerical officer roles on the publicjobs.ie site.

I am really looking for some permanent work, but I also am wondering what is the career progression in a clerical officer roles? I don’t want to keep bouncing from one temp one to the next temp one. I’m in my 30s and just would love some permanent work and to try and slowly build a career upwards.

Any help appreciated if others have thought the same!
