Is Aviva the worst?
Just wondering if Aviva is the worst insurance company in Ireland. Long story short, my mom had an accident a month ago. The car was a write off from the start, everyone said it including the guy who took it out of the ditch it went into. Not a piece of it wasn’t damaged in some way. It took their assessors 10 days to collect it and say it was indeed a write off. Every time you call them, there is an at least 25-30 minute wait time to speak to someone. Anyway, claim was eventually processed. Last Monday an agent finally sent the settlement amount, it was accepted and they said the money should be in her account at the end of last week. Zero replies to emails asking for updates. On hold again for 30 minutes just now and still waiting on them answering. In the midst of this, her policy was ending. We called to arrange renewal on the new car she has a deposit on - agent took details including about this claim. Said we had to renew online. Went online and she hadn’t updated that there was a claim. So another 30 minute wait to speak to yet another agent for this to be updated. It’s been 30 days since her accident, 29 days since we notified them and it seems to be going around in circles. It’s incredibly frustrating. My mom has had zero claims in her 40 years of driving - Aviva seems fine until you actually need them.
