desperate
Wondering if anyone has any advice or is in the same boat. I have a family history of asthma but I never had asthma before getting COVID in 2022. I then had a persistent cough for weeks and shortness of breath that landed me in the ER. I was told I have asthma after an FeNO test and normal PFTs (minor hyperinflation) my CT shows some mild air trapping as well. At first I was on one steroid inhaler and that worked for a few months until I got a cold then it all went down hill and I haven’t gotten better. In the past year my symptoms have become so severe I have moved up to triple inhaler therapy (wixela and spiriva and albuterol nebulizer as needed) and the highest inhaler therapy you can possibly be on according to my pulmonologist. I have shortness of breath and “air hunger” every night, coughing off and on and so much discomfort. i cry every single day and I am desperate for help. When i’ve been to the ER they tell me everything is fine. I have been working with functional medicine as well trying to figure out if something is underlying. I feel like my life is over and everyone keeps attributing my symptoms to anxiety because my tests are somewhat normal but I feel like an 80 year old person trapped in a 24 year old body. I don’t know what to do I am so young and I feel like my life like it’s over. Thank you for reading this just wondering if anyone has experienced something similar.
