Antibiotics

I'm just wondering if you guys think my doctor would let me have antibiotics on hand before I start coughing from a infection? For context, my family is sick with a respiratory illness right now, and it's probably a matter of time before I catch it. Usually when I catch respiratory illnesses, it starts off as a sore throat that lasts for 2 or 3 days, then the infection moves into my chest and turns into bronchitis, and I start having a barky sounding chesty cough, and at that point, my doctor prescribes me antibiotics. I'm wondering, if I don't wait until I start coughing to get antibiotics, and maybe tell my doctor when I have a sore throat, maybe he'll give me antibiotics to keep on hand to take when/if the cough starts? Anyone have any experience asking their doctor for antibiotics before the coughing starts? It would give me peace of mind knowing the antibiotics are there in case I need them, and can take them right away, if needed, especially since my doctor is hard to get in touch with and he's super busy
