Housing needs as kids get older
Hi everyone, I’m seeking advice from people with older teenagers. What did you notice about your housing needs a the kids got older? For context, I have one child- 11years old- we live in a three bedroom townhouse with two living areas- though it is on the small side. I’m debating moving- as I am not sure how we’ll go in the teenage years space wise. She had a friend over the other day and for the first time I felt in the way. I tried to stay downstairs, but then they moved to my office to play games. We live in Bayside Melbourne- beach side close to her current primary school and where she will attend high school next year.
What did people notice about their teenage kids ‘hanging out’ habits? Did a bigger house make a difference or were they always busy with sport and other activities? She plays b ball 6 times a week- so we are out a lot.
Edit: thanks everyone, appreciate the advice.
