Save File Help

I'll try not to add spoilers here (I'll be vague), I've got the new SkyBreaket DLC and I've progressed the story to a point that I can't continue with the "fun", and I have no idea if we continue with fun after the story stuff...basically...I want to revert that so I can go back and have more fun before returning to the story. Is that possible?
