Shank too long?

So I just got a new pair of pointe shoes and I really like how they feel but I noticed they look a bit longer than my old pair. I’m wondering if these are salvageable at all or not? When I tried them on at the shop we used the band to act as the elastic/ribbons and they felt good, but trying them on at home I’m worried with how much room I have in the heel/the length of the shank. (I have my old shoe on the other foot, so I haven’t started sewing these yet)
