Question about Orin and the kidnapping ordeal

So I know that you have all the time in the world to rescue whoever Orin kidnaps. My question is, can you safely complete the companion quests regardless of who gets kidnapped?

I don't really mind if she takes Lae'zel, Gale or Halsin. I don't want her to get Yenna because I want the cat to survive though. LOL

So my current situation is this: She kidnapped Lae'zel, who I still have not completed the companion quest for. And there's also Karlach, which companion quest is about going for Gortash. If I keep playing and doing my thing, fight Gortash for Karlach and then going after Orin to rescue Lae'zel, will I still be able to/have time to roam around and finish other quests (such as going to the House of Hope for Lae'zel's stuff), or having both Gortash and Orin dead is a point of no return that auto-completes pending quests like the end of Act 2?

Asking because if that is the case I might cheese the game into kidnapping Halsin instead so I have enough room to tackle every quest.
