I am at a loss of words

Just got to the Wyrm's lair after a big break in playing. This is still my first playthrough, but been reading reddit and stuff.

How the hells did not one single soul reveal that part of lore that you are presented with when you finally find Ansur? I've seen many spoilers and I don't mind them, frankly. But HOW THE HECK everybody remained silent about this one?
