With Tavs do you consider their lifestyles when romancing?
For example, in my head I can’t see Gale proposing marriage and living happily ever after reading books in his Waterdeep tower with a goth tiefling urchin, so I try to create someone who it seems matches his vibe (someone who likes culture and will do magic with him- bonus points if he can be the teacher). Halsin wouldn’t want someone all city-fied, so I’d create someone more earthy like a Druid or ranger wood elf. Good-ending Astarion needs someone caring and open-minded but who won’t put up with his shit, and likes the finer things in life (although I do want to create the cutest sweetest little bubblegum pink princess and see if he’ll fall for her). Shadowheart needs someone who understands loyalty and dedication to a cause (a paladin, or another cleric). Wyll needs someone to match his Bridgerton ways (a bard, maybe?), Karlach needs someone just as energetic as she is, but loving, too (Someone badass like Aylin, but less serious). Lae’zel needs someone who can either warm her up or match her coldness (to be honest I can actually see her with Voss and not just because he’s gith).
Have I been reading too many romance novels? Should I try to create more unconventional pairings? What do you guys do?
