Made Dummy 13 for friends. I’m an idiot
So at midnight - 24 hours before fireworks on 31st I get the brilliant idea of printing out 6 Dummy 13s for friends since we were meeting up at 6pm for New Years.
That gave me around 18 hours in total, including sleep.
Each dummy would take 2.4 hours individually so printing 6 would take around 14 hours if I did them individually, but I needed to sleep so I couldn’t swap plates every time.
I decided to import the geometry 6 times for 6 dummies on 2 plates. Burnt titanium Pla for the armor and Bambu basic Petg for the skeleton. It took me about an hour of getting everything set up. Made sure to scrub the plate before starting the print and left it in normal mode. No room for error so all those pieces needed to stick as I only had time for 1 go.
6.5 hrs for each plate so 13 hours in total, but that would allow me to sleep for 7 hours and then swap the plate. No time for individual colors. Everyone gets the same dummy.
My prints finished around 3pm, but I had to eat and get ready. I did that first and then it was 4:30pm.
How long does it take to assemble 6 dummies… that’s what I thought.
Turns out, it takes me 2 hours to assemble 6 dummies. Doing each step 6 times after starting out by sorting each of the individual pieces into its own pile. My fingers hurt, my nerves were weak, but I got it done.
Got to the party at 7 and everyone loved their dummies so that was a nice payoff, but the next time I have a brilliant idea at midnight I’m definitely not going to stress myself out trying to make it happen.
Still running the original nozzle after 1350 hours and my X1C didn‘t let me down.
