Speakers strictly for bedroom djing deep house / minimal / boom bap rap | NOT producing and NO parties | Budget 800 - 900 €

Hello reddit fam,

I really need some help with speakers for bedroom djing. I tried to fill in "the form" below.

Any help is much appreciated. Specially regarding HiFi models, that would suit for the scenario.

1. What is your budget?

800-900 € / 920-1050 $

2. What are you looking for?

I am looking for speakers with a decent bass response at moderate volume for djing, NOT producing.

I would prefer some active speakers, but if it result would be much better with passive speakers and amp, I'll go with it.

About the bass:This is really important, because often I read that people are suggesting 5” KRK’s and mean that is more then enough bass wise.

Well, most of the time those people are listening and djing rock, pop and some mainstream EDM like David Guetta.

The bass from a pair of 5” Rokits would be probably not enough for me. They won’t go down enough.

Some examples of music I hear or want to dj:

Deep house / minimal:

Hip - Hophttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0vzIL5CQTk&t=923s

More examples:

What are my best shots?

Pair of 5” or 6 “ monitor speakers and a sub? A pair of 8” without a sub?

HiFi speakers?

3. How will you typically be using the gear?

1.) Djing for myself, perhaps recording sets which I would upload to soundcloud and co. later.

2.) Hearing music through out the day just for fun. I could also be laying on the bed (see room layout), so not sitting directly in a perfect triangle in front of them. It could also be that I would chill in after-hours with 2-3 people and the music would play in background.

I would like to have a good sound in a medium volume, not just on high volume

If it is possible I want to have a clear, pleasant compact bass sound not a soft, washed out one in medium volume.

The room:

See the layout.

Regarding the volume I can be louder, I guess, since my neighbors are also sometimes loud with their music.

4. What gear do you own?

2 x technics 1210 turntables

1 x Beyerdynamic DT-990 headphones

1 x M-Audio Fast Track Pro (don't use it in the moment)

1 x pair of Wavemaster MX3+ as speakers

5. What do you intend on using for a source?

Vinyl from 1210 through a mixer. Haven't bought the mixer yet. Will be something like A&H Xone:96, Pioneer DJM-900nxs2, Rane 72 or Rane MP2015

The Wavemaster MX3+ have a remote for controlling the volume, power the speakers on/off and plug in headphones.

Would love if the new setup would allow me to do the same with the ability to quickly plug-in headphones

6. What material will you be using your gear for?

  • Djing (sound examples of genres are above) for myself or 3-4 people in an after-hour
  • Recording dj sets for uploading on Soundcloud
  • Listening to music (other mixes on Soundcloud and YouTube)

7. Are you willing to buy used?

Absolutely.

Please don't recommend general stuff like "used Hifi speakers, a sub and an amp".

I need some concrete model names, also, please try to recommend models that are available outside of USA, since I live in Berlin.

If I can help by answering additional questions, please let me know.

I really would like to hear some names of hifi speaker models, that are worth hunting for used and that would suite to those low bass heavy music and where it's also possible to find them in germany.

Thank you all
