As a beginner interested in competitive, is it better to buy competitive beys now or wait to see if CX shakes the meta?

I know powercreep is inevitable but you generally want a decent amount of playtime in the meta you're trying to play in. I know beys like Phoenix Wing and Wizard Rod have dominated for months, but CX is a whole new system so I wonder if people feel this might be the breaking point of finally introducing some real meta shaking powercreep.
