Did you invite your boss to your wedding?

I know it’s customary to invite your boss to your wedding. I’m close with my partner, have had several in-person team events, holiday parties at his house, etc. since we have been working on a project for a couple of years now. Should I invite him and his wife to my wedding? He lives in another state, so I’m not sure the likelihood he would come, or if it would seem like it’s a cash grab. Thoughts?
