my chalazion journey
it started september 1st with just a stinging sensation in my right eye, for sure thought a stye was coming so it wasn’t a huge deal. then it just kept getting redder and it kept growing… 13 days later it’s still here and it’s angry. i went to the ophthalmologist on day 10 because my nurse friend told me it was a chalazion (first time hearing of it), doc did not seem sure it’d go away on its own so he tried to squeeze some out, it hurt. he gave me a steroid ointment i have to use for 10 days that goes directly in the eye 3x a day and makes me blind for a few hours. no biggie as long as it fixes it. it’s only gotten worse. but hopefully worse before better…? he said if the steroid doesn’t work he’ll try the steroid shot. if that doesn’t work he’ll remove it surgically. i don’t know if i can stomach being awake for that but this thing is big and uncomfortable and embarrassing, i feel icky and like i can’t be out in public… ordered a pack of colored sunglasses to wear inside lol. so now i’m desperate and started youtubing and saw the acv recommendations; i tried it and i think it burned my skin a bit but i’m going to keep going and see what happens… also still doing hot compress 3-4x a day and ordered a plug in mask recommended on this sub, and the we love eyes roller but hasn’t come in yet so will update when i use it. ugh this is the worst.
