Why most of the Malays are influenced by Western/ Korean cultures compared to other races?
I grew up in a multiracial environment since I was kid. I have always noticed most Malays are heavily influenced by White and Korean culture in terms of:
- Verbal slang
- Obsession towards bands, whitening skincare, celebrities
- Mannerism
- Lifestyle
Even though my Chinese and Indian friends do have a slight influence of western culture, they tend to stick with their native roots most of the time and have no obsession with it.
P.S. This is not a hate or racist post. I'm asking a genuine question based on my observation for years.
