boomers want to sit outside

Waiting by the host stand at a mexican restaurant for my pickup order, boomer couple walks in and the lady beelines to me and says “we want to sit outside”. I looked up from my phone and said “oh I don’t work here”. She says “so we can just sit outside?” I said “I’m sure someone will be here soon to seat you, but again, I don’t work here”. The guy harrumphs and says “maybe you should!” which I don’t even understand what that means.

They walk across the restaurant to the door that leads outside, fling it open and bump into the host who is walking through it carrying plates. The host is startled and says “can I help you?” and the lady says “we want to sit outside” and the host says “ok, come back over here and I can put you on the wait list”. The lady then points at me and says “we asked that guy and he said we could just go sit outside” and so I said “that’s not what happened you fuckin liars, I told them to wait here and that I didn’t work here” and the host said “you can sit at the bar or wait for a table outside or leave” and they left.
