Anyone whose lived in on-campus grad housing, have you kept a pet in the apartment?

I live in a studio in one of the graduate on campus housing. My complex is a no pet zone but there are several people who have dogs. I'm thinking of bringing my dog but don't want to get in trouble. Has anyone kept a pet in an on campus housing?
