Do you think The Great Gatsby will recoup its investment?

I’m curious if this Broadway run alone will be enough for the production to recoup its investment. I couldn’t find any data on their production budget, but I imagine it’s gotta big pretty huge given a few factors:

  • It’s playing in the second-largest theater by capacity.
  • The show has some extravagant-looking stage and costume designs.
  • There seems to be a big orchestra.

I’m also wondering about the costs of the cast. Jeremy Jordan and Eva Noblezada are big-time names in the Broadway community for sure, but I wouldn’t say they’re household names outside of theater so not sure where on the pay scale that puts them. Does anyone have a ballpark estimate of what they might be making for a one-year contract? Also, incoming star Sarah Hyland probably would command a higher fee given she’s a little more mainstream.

It seems like the production is betting big, but I’m curious if anyone has insight into how close they might be to recoupment. What do you guys think
