Does anybody else find the sudden shift in ESPN's coverage of the Michigan scandal odd?

When all of this first came out a few weeks ago everyone at ESPN was stating that this scandal wasn't that big of a deal. Now in the last 24 hours we have Finebaum, Stephen A. Smith, and to a lesser degree Pete Thamel calling for swift and sudden punishment of Michigan. I wouldn't find it odd if this was the message from the start, but we haven't gotten any big new evidence in about a week. Part of me wonders if this is to try to keep two big ten teams out of the playoffs since ESPN won't have any more big ten games next year or if it is trying to stir up more drama to boost ratings if Michigan does make the playoffs. It is also interesting how little coverage the B1G broadcast partners: Fox, CBS, NBC are giving in comparison to ESPN. Either way I am interested in hearing your opinion about the media coverage there are tons of other threads about what Michigan / Stallions did to discuss that aspect of all the drama.
