Should I get the rust repaired on my 2007 Toyota RAV4 ?
Hello people,
I've posted here before and received great advice, now a year or two later I've got another question.
University student (finishing in a little less than 2 years), money's tight, 2007 Toyota RAV4 has 190k kilometers (I'd like to get it to 400k), bought it at 130k kilometers for $7500 taxes included from a dealership. My mistake was not getting it checked at a mechanic before buying. Car hasn't been a bad to me but it's a car and requires some love.
Rocker panels are rusted really fucking bad and I was just told (during oil change) that the chassis has started rusting as well. I'm told that it hasn't progressed a lot so it still is salvageable if I get it fixed asap.
I was quoted $1400 by an auto body repair shop for just the left side rocker panel about 2 years ago. I want to get both sides fixed but don't know how much I'll the quote will be. I also don't know how much will be too much. Like how much will mean I should let it rust away.
What's your educated opinion people ?
Thanks in advance, your help means a lot to me.
