Is talking a strangers an Irish thing ?

32 , M

Just something I've noticed in Ireland that I've always been good at but less so abroad .

Yesterday I was travelling back from Cork to kildare on public transport and on the the train I was sitting across from this Kerry man who was in his 70s and he started talking to me , ended up chatting to him for about 2 hours , got the whole life story and had a bit of banter too was great.

Got off the train then and hopped on a packed bus to kildare and sat beside this Japanese girl ( who had been living here 10 years ) , once again she started the conversation and I ended up chatting to her about Japanese culture stuff and careers for 90 mins too.

It's mad because I'm a headphones on at all times kinda fella but I'll always chat away if someone starts talking to me , and honestly I love those little interactions, it's happened me on planes alot too.

Honestly I love these little interactions and it happens me often in Ireland but never abroad , so is this purely an Irish thing or am I just mega approachable? 😂
