Advice for cat owner who works 9-6

I’m 24 y/o living in an apartment and have a full time in person job from 9-6pm M-F. Me and my boyfriend have been thinking for over a year now about getting a cat (he works 7:30-5:30 daily). We want 2 so that when we are gone at work they have each other to play with etc. but I still am a little nervous about leaving kittens alone at home for about 10 hours a day. Any advice on tips/advice for this situation? They will be extremely loved and spoiled on weekends and before/after work of course <3 PS these kittens will not be either of our first cats!
