How often do you clean your cats teeth?

Or do you clean them at all? Do you take them to the vet & have them knocked out for a cleaning? My dogs teeth, I could brush. Also had them go in & under for teeth cleanings & surgeries. But my cat? He won't even let me willingly brush him or cyan his messed up ear. It's a battle everytime & we've been playing these games for 5 yrs together after rescuinghim from a bad situation! The vet said at last check up he needs a teeth cleaning & junky build up removed. I can't even afford to fix my own teeth. My cat hates the vet & getting in the carrier & car. Just wanting your opinions & to know what you all do😸
