Thoughts on brain organoid AI
They're making computers out of real brain tissue and programming it. It's believed they even have some degree sentience as their brain waves are comparable to an infant's.
Just wondering what the Catholic stance on this is, if it exists. Very new technology, so I doubt the pope has an official stance on it, so it's just individual opinion, probably. I mean, they're made of stem cells, and I know that's a no-go. I guess my real question is do you think they have a soul?
Catholics believe things the soul being in them from the moment of conception and I feel like this would qualify, even if actual conception has not taken place.
But this is real human brain tissue, and it seems to have feelings. This is pretty horrific in my opinion, but what's yours?
