Christian concerned about the ethical future of the tech industry.

Hello, I'm applying to school for Computer Science, but I had to stop and see jobs available in the tech industry. My outlook on the future of tech is kind of pessimistic, a result of being generally uninformed, having felt the negative blows of addictive online content algorithms, the prospect of AI replacing jobs, AI & Tech innovations being used for sinful malicious purposes, power imbalance, the greed of powerful tech companies and the downward trend of secular society foretold throughout the Bible.

I asked ChatGPT of some ethical applications of CS and specifically AI in the future and it responded with:

  1. bringing learning to all people with free or low cost educational materials, through secure and accesible software and hardware.
  2. Personalizing learning with AI adaptive learning systems
  3. Healthcare and Early Disease detection with AI
  4. AI-driven disaster response systems
  5. AI Environmental monitoring
  6. Energy efficient software and hardware

With all this good I still feel pessimistic. Does anyone else feel this way? Any insight for optimism of the tech world? Any insightful comments appreciated, thank you and God bless.
