What isn't updates given priority to Chat+ users!?

Right now I'm paying $11 a month (with tax) for first access to when servers are crowded (now it just crashes so that's useless), supposed faster responses (I have yet to see a difference from mine with it to a friend's without it), and my friend got the new update and I haven't? Like wtf am I paying for!? The ability to change the color of the text bubbles!?
