Norridge vs Chicago

Hi! Currently living in Bucktown (love it!) but am renting and considering purchasing a home. The city just doesn't have the size we need (3+ bedroom) at a price that is in our budget. We found a gorgeous home in Norridge (it was rehabbed 2 years ago) but know nothing about the area. Everything I do is in LP, RN or in the city proper... Gym, salons, etc. I've lived all over the city for 25 years (University village, old town, river north, Avondale, bucktown). Is moving to Norridge drastic? Any pros to moving to Norridge? I'm scared I am going to miss the city too much..ans it's 35min with traffic to down town. Also.. Do I need to be concerned about racism? I'm South Asian..and didn't see much diversity when I was there for a couple of hours. Any help is appreciated!
