I just got fired
UPDATE
Nobody disobeyed we all did what she wanted. It was mentioned by another shift lead to a trainer that they didn't like how the sheet of paper was set up and that trainer asked me later my thoughts and I told her the layout of the sheet of paper didn't make sense. That's what this is over... a sheet of paper. We all still did it the way she wanted it to be done, we just had a discussion about it, that was it. • ••
For context, I waited over a month to start working for Chick-fil-A because they had just opened a new location in Arkansas. I was hired on as a normal employee and then interviewed for management before the store opened and got a position as a shift lead at $13 an hour. I shut up every day 30 minutes early to an hour early and stayed an hour late as requested every night . I continuously put my foot forward in the corporate trainers even said that I was absolutely nailing everything minus the way that our owner operator wants us to do our set ups, which is where you write down how you’re gonna place people and run their breaks. The template that she provided was one that she made up that didn’t make sense to me, and I had a discussion with the other leads after I was approached by a trainer who asked my opinion on them and let me know that others felt that way as well. they all agree that nobody like that set up. Anyways fast-forward over the weekend into Monday I’m working and about 130 our owner operator comes in to the expo area and asked me to come in the office I do and she tells me I’m going to be blunt with you. We’ve had complaints about you over the weekend and we’re gonna terminate your employment. I asked what the complaints were and she told me that she was not going to discuss them with me. I guess it was because I was complaining about being outside in 95° heat with no hat and not able to leave the drive-through line to get water even though we were not that busy at that time. They had a standing out in the sun and not under the awnings that are provided.
