Recent Diagnosis

Hey everyone! Ok, check this out. 52 yr old male, no existing cormabidities, don't drink, don't smoke (stopped over 20 yrs ago). Active most days. Controlled AFib thru ablation, currently on no meds for anything besides supplements.

Went to Neurologist for migraine. Ran some tests on me. Ultrasound came back : Report "Mild calcified plaque bilateral carotid bulb, <50%( less than) stenosis". "your neck arteries do show some plaque(buildup) but this does not explain your symptoms as there is not significant narrowing or other abnormalities of the blood vessels. Please continue working with your doctors to ensure bloodpressure and cholesterol are well controlled as these can affect plaque."

Sent this over to my cardiologist team, a long with below labs, the Dr prescribed Atorvastatin 10mg and baby aspirin. Follow up in 6 months. CT CAC Score next week.

May 2024 labs Total Cholesterol: 194 HDL: 62 Trig: 65 LDL: 120 VLDL: 12 LDL/HDL ratio: 1.9

Obviously I'm going to listen to my doctor, give the meds a chance. But I really would prefer a holistic approach to this. I'm 6'2 and weigh 232, so my ideal weight is 215 or so. As far as supplements, Vit D3 with K2, Coq 10, B complex (niacin). I've been taking ginger, tumeric, cayan pepper, and apple cider vinegar. So I'd like to see my most recent labs. Anyway, just venting, cause I hate going on meds. Anybody else go thru what I am right now? Appreciate any pointers. Thank you!!!
