Opinions?

I'm doing a one month no contact with the guy I really like/codependent (not sure which) with. I told him I had to go no contact for a month. But he still messages me. Not really conversations but like a rental place because I need to find a new place or pictures of his pets because I absolutely adore animals. I'm not sure what to do or think past not messaging him back. Any advice/suggestions? T.I.A.
