Moving From Florida - What Should Be Expected?
The place I'm currently renting (for the past 6 years or so) in South Florida is being sold by the owner, who told use we have until the beginning of February to kick rocks. 1-1 700sqft shoeboxs in bad neighborhoods around here go for about $1800/month, unless you're extremly low-income or 55+, which it's then $1500/month. As a born and raised Floridian, I've never been fond of the endless heat and humidity, among many others things, and always wanted to move - I guess life finally forced me into it, ready or not.
Anyways, found a nice place in Worthington for several hundred dollars less AND it's a 2-2. For anyone wondering "Why the hell would you go to Ohio from Florida?", my wife and I wanted to stay on the east side, but away from the coast - we want to make it harder for hurricanes to find us. Also, a family friend, born and raised from Cinncinati, swears it's a great place to raise a family. My son is autistic, so it was great to hear that Ohio takes mental health and autism so seriously. We went with Worthington in Columbus, based on what several websites seem to claim, in regards to the area and education.
Aside from the cold/snow, what should my family and I be prepared for?
BONUS: As a TTRPG designer/player, what are some good local game stores I should check out?
