Everything is drenched in sauce in food ads now

The three different food ads I saw today were pizza getting dunked in sauce cups, bww with the wings being dumped into an orange buffalo ocean and coming out the other side before being dunked in an overflowing ranch cup, and of course the sonic specialty burger with cheese sauce or whatever poured all over it. What the fuck are these companies thinking? It honestly just looks gross - and I am a foodie who would normally like specialty items and would eat at these places, but every single food item they show is just soaked! It's like they expect people to use their food as a vessel to spoon up like 2 cups worth of sauce over the course of their meal. Whatever gimmick or trend they think they're tapping into, this is NOT IT. The ads themselves look *more* gross than I make it sound.
