Cooking American as a non American

I live in Midwestern America. When I want to cook Chinese I make stir fry or chicken and veggies. Indian is butter chicken. Italian is spaghetti and meatballs. For those who don't live in the United States, what do you cook when you cook American?

Update: For butter chicken ingredients, I can find those in the international section on the Indian shelf. For Spaghetti and Marinara sauce, those are not in the international aisle. Most grocery stores have a specific large section for pasta and marinara sauce.

Are the ingredients you need for an "American" dish easily found?
