Is it taboo to sell Costco pastries at my cafe?
My wife and I plan on opening an espresso cafe. We wouldn’t have space for an oven to do fresh baked goods so we were going to buy Costco pastries to sell individually, maybe warm up in a toaster. We were also considering making cold sandwiches with the croissants.
I totally understand the hate for the resellers who buy out the cakes and other pastries. However, my understanding is these people are strictly sell those goods. We only plan to sell like three different pastries but the main focus is espresso drinks. They will just be an add on/up sell.
My wife would love to do the baking herself it’s just not in the budget to get this off the ground.
What does r/Costco think? If you are against, any suggestions?
